FZG, YZG Series Cylindrical & Square Vacuum Dryer

Overview

Vacuum drying means heating and drying materials under vacuum conditions. It uses a vacuum pump to extract air and moisture, creating a vacuum state in the working chamber, which accelerates the drying rate. Suitable for material drying in pharmaceutical, chemical, food, electronic, Chinese medicine and other industries.

Vacuum Drying Theoretical Description
① When heating temperature is constant, increasing vacuum pump speed accelerates the drying rate.
② When vacuum degree is constant, increasing heating temperature accelerates the drying rate.
③ Increasing both vacuum degree and heating temperature greatly accelerates the drying rate.

If a condenser is used, evaporated solvents from materials can be recovered through the condenser. This is a commonly used drying equipment. If the JZJS-70 water ring vacuum pump unit is used, no condenser is needed, saving energy and investment.

Features
① The boiling point of material solution decreases under vacuum, increasing the heat transfer driving force of the evaporator, saving heat transfer area for a given heat transfer amount.
② The heat source for evaporation can use low-pressure steam or waste steam; for special requirements, water or oil heating can be selected, and the factory can provide customized design.
③ Heat loss of the evaporator can be reduced.
④ Suitable for drying heat-sensitive materials that easily decompose, polymerize, or deteriorate at high temperatures.
⑤ Sterilization can be performed before drying, and no impurities will contaminate the materials during drying.
⑥ As a static vacuum dryer, the shape of dried materials will not be damaged.

Working Principle and Main Auxiliary Equipment

The YZG and FZG series cylindrical and square vacuum dryers are designed with a flow-through drying rack that can be removed. Based on the principle of hot air rising, they fully utilize the heat conducted from the drying pipes on each layer to accelerate material drying. Particularly, the use of double steam pipes for layered steam inlet and densified pipes on the lower two layers improves the temperature uniformity issue of previous static vacuum dryers. The sealing door opens very easily and can make slight free swings on the entire sealing surface to fit the sealing surface, improving the vacuum degree inside the dryer. Thus, materials can rapidly vaporize and accelerate drying at lower temperatures.

1. Dryer body: According to different production requirements, the dryer body can be made of A3 steel plate, or A3 steel plate lined with 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel plate, or 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel plate. 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel walls are easy to clean, meeting the sterile requirements for pharmaceuticals, and have good corrosion resistance against acids and alkalis. Three sight glasses are provided on the body for observing material drying conditions. The sight glass gaskets are made of silicone rubber, ensuring sealing and meeting non-toxic drying requirements for pharmaceuticals. A vacuum gauge and thermometer are installed on the body, as well as a sterilization port for sterilization and protection before or during drying. Sterilization and protection gases are selected by the user. The vacuum pump and vacuum valve must be closed during sterilization. Only after closing the sterilization port can the vacuum pump be started and the vacuum valve opened to create vacuum. For sterile operation, a steam filter (for sterilization port) and air filter (for vent valve port) should be equipped. Considering high steam pressure input from the sterilization port, a safety valve is also installed on the body for protection. A steam inlet (or hot water outlet) is provided on the body, and a drain trap connection (or hot water inlet) and drain port are provided at the bottom.

2. Drying rack inside dryer: According to different material drying requirements, the drying rack can be made of 20# seamless steel pipe or 1Cr18Ni9Ti seamless steel pipe. According to different material drying temperature requirements, the drying rack comes in three types: steam type, hot water type, and electric heating type.

3. Hot water tank: The hot water tank is specially designed and produced for hot water type vacuum dryers. It is equipped with a water level gauge, water filling port, leak port, drain port, temperature measurement port, hot water inlet/outlet, and SC-II steam heating silencer (or electric water heater), as well as an automatic digital temperature control device. Users can easily set the temperature between 0-100°C. The hot water tank has 80mm thick insulation, and the entire hot water tank operates with low noise and low energy consumption. The hot water tank comes with a frame. Clean soft water should be used in the hot water tank to avoid scale affecting heat transfer speed and water circulation speed.

4. Steam solenoid valve stand: The steam solenoid valve stand is mainly used for hot water tank heating. When the hot water temperature reaches the preset value, the thermometer notifies the electrical control box to cut off the steam solenoid valve. When the hot water temperature falls below the preset value, the steam solenoid valve opens, achieving automatic temperature control. If the steam solenoid valve fails, close the two stop valves on the left and right of the steam solenoid valve, and open the stop valve below to achieve manual temperature control. Removing the steam solenoid valve does not affect normal operation.

5. Hot water pipeline pump: The hot water pipeline pump is mainly used for hot water circulation in hot water type vacuum dryers. The selected model is SGR40-6-20.

6. Hot water solenoid valve stand: The hot water solenoid valve stand is mainly used for opening and shutting off hot water supply to the drying rack in hot water type vacuum dryers. The hot water solenoid valve connects to the electrical control box to achieve automatic control, with functions similar to the steam solenoid valve.

7. Condenser: The condenser functions to recover solvents in the vacuum extraction pipeline, with a heat exchange area of 7 m². One connection is for cold water inlet, and the other for water outlet. If users have special requirements for solvent recovery, the factory can manufacture the condenser according to the user's required material. The factory also designs and manufactures multi-pass copper-tube condensers with an operating pressure of -0.1MPa to 0.2MPa. The shell is made of stainless steel, and the heat exchange tubes are made of red copper. It is equipped with an S-2F6.5 refrigerator using F-22 as refrigerant. The condenser comes with a stand.

8. Storage tank: The storage tank is used to store recovered solvents. It can be manufactured according to user requirements for materials. The storage tank is equipped with vacuum extraction inlet/outlet, solvent drain valve, vent valve, and liquid level gauge.

9. Vacuum pump: For vacuum pump selection, refer to the technical data table and vacuum drying system configuration table. Select the appropriate vacuum pump according to material boiling point, evaporation amount, and drying requirements. When solvent recovery is not required, since the vacuum extraction contains a large amount of water vapor, a water ring vacuum pump, water jet pump, or ZSL-I-100 jet vacuum pump is recommended. The water ring vacuum pump can be used in combination with a mechanical booster pump.

10. Electrical control box: Mainly used for automatic temperature control and circulation of hot water, automatic temperature control of electric heating rack, digital temperature display and setting, and manual/automatic control of vacuum pump, hot water pipeline pump, condenser, cold water circulation pump, etc.

11. Drying tray: Where material permits, it is recommended to use 10-12 mesh stainless steel screen trays (1Cr18Ni9Ti) to facilitate material drying.
